Position Summary: The Radiology Systems Unit is looking for an IT Intern to join the team for 3 months to learn and help with System Administration functions in two Radiology Data Centers that are focused heavily on research computing. The principal Duties and Responsibilities include 1) serve as an escalation point for technical issues raised by users, 2) inventory and document existing system in the data center, 3) document technical problems, resolutions, and processes for assigned tasks and projects, 4) participate in the post-mortem process for problems as appropriate, 5) build configurations in Ansible for servers and 6) setup monitoring on servers.
We will not sponsor or transfer visas for this position.
Responsibilities: The primary purpose of the Internship is to provide an intern with relevant field experiences in Information Technology System Administration. One or more mentors will be assigned to the intern to provide instruction, guidance and to assess performance. The intern is responsible for observing the functions and processes of the assigned work unit. In addition, the intern may be given selected work assignments to reinforce the learning experience, to assess the performance levels and to provide benefit to the work unit. The intern will be responsible for completing all internship-related assignments and reports for both Mayo Clinic and the participating educational facility. The duration and timing of the internship will be arranged with the intern.
Qualifications: The incumbent must be enrolled in a bachelors, masters or graduate degree program from a college or university. Typically, this internship would occur after the student has taken most of the courses required by the degree program.
Where applicable – the degree program must require an internship as a graduation requirement (or offer as a credit option).
Additional Qualifications: – Knowledge of Linux servers
– Knowledge of scripting languages (sh, python, perl)

Compensation Detail: This position has a predetermined rate of $20.00 per hour.
Hours/Pay Period: 80
Schedule Details: Monday-Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 p.m (optionally 7:00 am – 4:00 pm)
