The salary range reflected above is the normal hiring range for 2014. The full salary range, including longevity pay, is $24.62 – $34.54 per hour.

As part of the counties TSA II, Software Engineer/.Net Developer staff, you will be responsible for:

  • Experienced programming position using VisualStudio.NET and SQL database and reporting tools.
  • Writes programs, designs, tests, debugs, configures, installs, documents, administers, maintains, troubleshoots, and supports new or existing applications or systems.
  • Meets with customer department users, outside agencies, and vendors to analyze requests and research, evaluate, recommend, and implement modifications, enhancements, or upgrades.
  • Prepares technical documentation and specifications, provides training to customers, and may assist customers in the development of procedure manuals for systems or applications.
  • Defines and develops customer controls, security, and backup procedures to protect County supported systems and data.
  • Assists staff in ensuring the long-range integration of County information technology systems.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades.
 Distinguishing Features of Work:
An employee in this class is responsible for the planning, design, installation, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of information technology systems or applications in an assigned IT specialty area. This job description covers several separate but similar career paths within the Information Technology Department, including but not limited to specialty areas in application systems development, telecommunications and network services, applications and network server management, office automation and electronic workstation support, and database management. Duties include consulting with customers to define comprehensive information technology needs and requirements; analyzing, planning, designing, programming, testing, implementing, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining new or existing systems or applications; and providing technical assistance to other IT staff. The work is performed under the supervision of assigned supervisory staff and the work direction of the senior staff.

 Selection Process:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Pass/Fail):

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, management information systems, information technology, telecommunications, or a related field, AND two years of full-time paid experience in a related field; OR applicable experience/education as determined by the Human Resources Director.

Points will be awarded for job-related experience and education exceeding the minimum qualifications. Only experience occurring during the ten most recent years will be used in determining this assessment.
