|Job Description:||NOTE: This position located in the Virginia MnDOT building is open to all qualified applicants. This position is being posted concurrently for internal candidates and if not filled, it will be filled through this announcement. The position is responsible for providing desktop user support and technical expertise for the MnDOT IT Service Desk and acting as a subject matter expert to the offices within MnDOT. This position installs, supports, troubleshoots and maintains MnDOT resources, software and hardware while providing professional technical consulting services to MnDOT management and employees. Incumbent will resolve incident requests, document incident requests with relevant information and status changes, and escalate incident requests outside of the MnDOT IT Service Desk unit.
|Minimum Qualifications:||Two (2) years of professional information technology experience in a service desk environment within the last three (3) years that demonstrates:
– Experience providing computer desktop support and mobile device support (smartphones, iPads, droids);
– Active Directory experience with managing users and computers; and
– Experience diagnosing and repairing hardware/software problems.
*A two year degree in computer science or a related field may substitute for six months of experience OR a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field may substitute for one year of experience.
– Valid driver’s license.
|Preferred Qualifications:||– Experience in antivirus software administration
– Experience using service desk incident tracking software
– Experience using desktop imaging software
