Data Center Operations is an exciting and dynamic organization that provides systems support, enhancements, and consultation for the selection and implementation of TR business systems. It supports TR business systems that support business operations such as ordering, subscriptions, pricing, billing, finance, publishing, manufacturing, and distribution.
Assist the Data Center Planning team with documenting forecasting tool requirements, establishing deliverables, and implementing new work flows. This will provide a great opportunity to learn how TR manages the project delivery pipeline into our worldwide data centre footprint, while providing insight into the challenges that the transformation programme will face in a global organization of our scale.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Lead discovery exercises within the team and with staff from customer and supplier groups to ensure a thorough understanding of the required forecast inputs and deliverables. Focus areas will include:
Forecasting demand (growth and mitigation)
Forward Planning of Space and Power needs
Managing the project pipeline with regard to equipment acquisition and space and power allocation
Co-author a communications plan that describes:
Our high-level approach to Data Centre Planning
The handoffs with adjacent groups detailing inputs and deliverables
The DCP Operating Rhythm
DCP Success Criteria and performance against targets
Build an understanding of:
The scale, diversity and application of the Thomson Reuters data center estate with regard to the nature of businesses supported and service levels required.
The operating standards and guidelines that form the basis of the Data Center Operations strategy to managing IT assets.
