Description

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES

  • Understand and utilize Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Understand and adhere to approved design standards
  • Collaborate with BOS to capture and analyze technical, functional and non-functional requirements
  • Attend meetings to discuss user requirements for assigned projects, modifications and enhancements
  • Participate in estimation process
  • Report any deviations in project schedules to the team leader on a timely basis
  • Interpret functional requirements
  • Document technical and non-functional requirements
  • Define and document application designs that meet all requirements (i.e., functionality, operability, architectural alignment, security, etc.)
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate solutions that both satisfy the user’s business needs and support the IT technical environment
  • Provide support to the Application Development team during the analysis, development and testing processes
  • Contribute business domain knowledge to information flow design and database reviews
  • Participate in others’ design reviews
  • Lead design reviews
  • Design data models and data flow
  • Assist with designing prototypes
  • Identify and document applicable system platform and dependencies
  • Analyze and resolve design defects
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to pre-defined design specifications
  • Maintain and updates system documentation
  • Identify opportunities to save costs and more effectively manage assets (e.g. process improvements)

  • Has ability to translate design requirements into code in a selected programming language (e.g., COBOL, COMS/CICS, .Net/C#, VB6, Classic ASP, XML, SOA/WCF) and as required document code
  • Demonstrates ability to provide initial project estimates with minimal project data
  • Demonstrates ability to create detailed project / development estimates using estimation models

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Associate or Bachelor degree in Computer Science related field with 2+years experience
