Job Description:
Systems Administrator/Workstations Department: IT Schedule: Full-time Shift: Day shift Hours: 1.0, M-F, 8:00am-4:30pm, Req # – 8808 Job Details: * Technical school graduate * One (1) year relevant experience is required * JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for maintaining, monitoring and tuning all computer workstation operating systems, client software, and hardware platforms. Coordinates all hardware and operating system upgrades and patches, installation of peripheral equipment and communication devices. Responsible for the planning, installation, implementation, and on-going maintenance of assigned network based applications. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education:Minimum education requirement is a technical school graduate in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline. Other degrees will be considered with the appropriate background and experience. Other technical backgrounds may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Experience:Minimum one (1) year experience working and managing a large computer workstation environment. Excellent written, oral communications, inter-personal and organizational skills are essential. Presentation skills are necessary. Ability to operate and communicate effectively while under pressure is essential. Licensure/Certification/Registration:N/A PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education:An advanced degree is desired. Experience:N/A Licensure/Certification/Registration:Microsoft or other Information Technology certification. SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Because of the wide array of services, topologies and technologies used, a broad technical spectrum of expertise is necessary. Although technical expertise is not required in all the areas noted, a technical understanding of the technologies and their applications is necessary. Detailed knowledge of all versions of Microsoft Windows required. Knowledge of Desktop Virtualization, VM Ware, Citrix, Mac OS, and Linux is also preferred.
