Job Description: :: Software Programmer Analyst ::
This apprenticeship provides experience similar to an entry-level software engineering position for a new or recent graduate. As a Software Programmer Analyst you will participate in developing new products and new modules for existing commercial software products. You will be part of a product development team responsible for developing, supporting and enhancing products. You will participate in analysis, design, coding and unit testing of applications. You will work closely with other developers, engineering staff, QA, and Professional Services staff. You will also work directly with sales, product marketing, and customers to achieve sound product design for market and implementation success. (Position may be full or part-time for the summer or for 12-15 months.)
::MAP Job Description::
MAP apprenticeships/internships are geared for well qualified college juniors, seniors, and recent graduates who have a strong Christian faith and are headed into career fields such as (but not limited to) Business, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Graphic Design, Film Production, Web, IT/IS, and Software Development. Though some of these highly sought-after internships may be unpaid, most opportunities available through MAP are paid.
As a MAP apprentice/intern, you spend four days per week engaged in meaningful projects at your workplace, and one day involved in our marketplace ministry training and activities. You work in a position directly related to your field, gaining relevant experience that gives you an edge in your career and helps build your résumé. Because a core value of the program is that work is worship, the labor you do should be highly productive, honoring to God by adding tangible value to the organization and to those with whom you work.
MAP apprentices meet together for weekly training and activities, which comprise the heart of the program. These build on your personal relationship with Jesus Christ, with a focus on marketplace ministry and fulfilling God’s calling on your life. While this includes practical training for business and for life, the marketplace ministry core involves themes of prayer evangelism, servant leadership, a Biblical approach to work, and systemic poverty.
As an MAP apprentice, you will meet face to face with successful professionals from various industries who share from the example of their own lives and teach you in their areas of expertise. You will be exposed to numerous examples of how God is using His people in the marketplace. You can expect to benefit from valuable training, activities, and experiences that will help launch you into your future more prepared, with a greater sense of purpose, and hopefully with a greater vision for impacting the world.
MAP apprenticeships are full-time through the summer, with the possibility of continuing beyond that if mutually desired by both the apprentice and the company. Returning to work for a second summer may be an option as well.
Visit http://www.MarketplaceApprentice.org or contact email@example.com for more information. The application deadline is May 1, but earlier application significantly increases your chances since many positions may already be filled.
Qualifications: College junior, senior, or recent graduate in a related field of study.
Application Instructions: Application requires a résumé, college transcript (official or unofficial), and completed MAP application, which may be submitted by email (preferred) to firstname.lastname@example.org, by fax to 952-853-2200, or by mail to: Apprentice Program, 7900 International Drive, Suite 770, Bloomington, MN 55425.
