POSITION SUMMARY:
This Computer Technician position is to provide technical support as part of our Computer Hardware Support team. The selected person will be an integral part of the team. Someone with an positive / can do work attitude, is flexible, energetic, hard working, well-organized, knowledgeable, accurate, reliable, independent, a self-motivated person that is willing and eager to take on challenges and responsibilities.

This position performs a wide variety of IT support duties for the Department Manager, other department Team Members and a wide variety of other company Team Members. This will ensure the proper functioning of the department and enhance the productivity and effectiveness of a technical staff in a busy, professional environment. The position will exhibit a high degree of professionalism and effectively interface with company Team Members on a daily basis.

This is a full-time position. Hours worked are as follows: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm with an hour off for lunch at 12:00pm (Noon). Also, one Saturday approximately every 6 weeks 8:00am-5:00pm. These Saturday hours provide for additional store/corporate support. Overtime hours are available dependent on department workload. NOTE: Hours may be adjusted per your supervisor’s request or per the needs of the company and/or related workload.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Production Issues:
•Learn new software
•Learn new computer skills
•Must have working knowledge of computers and their operating systems
•Configuration and installation of computers and peripherals
•Troubleshooting basic network related issues
•Repair and maintenance of company owned computers and peripherals
•Provide hardware and software support and technical assistance to other company Team Members via e-mail, telephone or in person
•Ensure consistent implementation of processes:
•Installation of new or replacement equipment
•De-installation of existing equipment
•Perform initial test processes for boot-up and image load
•Perform generic and basic tests on connectivity and application launches
•Identify and document issues
•Travel to store locations if needed to perform prescribed installations or maintenance on assigned equipment – a company vehicle will be provided for store travels
•Submit required paperwork
•Perform quarterly preventive maintenance on all computer equipment at assigned store and corporate locations.
•Technicians typically work a 48 plus hour week; overtime pays time and a half
•Work with hand tools and test sets
•Keep work areas clean and organized
•And other duties as requested or required

Qualifications: POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and abilities:
•High school diploma or equivalent
•A Two Year Technical Degree or service experience in Computer Hardware, Computer Networking, Management Information Systems, Computer Repair, or Computer Science
•Minimum of 2 years related experience including:
Installation, Repair, Upgrade and Troubleshooting computers
•Must have experience with computer hardware installation and troubleshooting for desktops and servers
•Strong working knowledge of WIN95, WIN98, WIN NT, WIN 2000, WIN XP
•Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
•Network / Client-Server experience (TCP/IP, Server, etc) preferred
•Some experience with configuring routers, switches and hubs preferred
•Dell, Compaq, HP or IBM certifications are a plus
•Experience with various printers (impact, inkjet or laser)
•Willingness to learn

•You must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
•Technicians should expect to work a 12-hour day (may start as early as 6 am) when traveling to stores
•Must be available to work nights and weekends including Sunday, if needed
•Provide numbers (i.e. home phone / cell phone) for which you can be easily and quickly reachable
•Must carry our on-call cellular phone on a rotating schedule (1 week duration)
